Barcelona needs to continue bringing in money to the club to rescue the club’s financial situation. Although improving, the club’s economic crisis is still in a phase of complete recovery.

The club has many players who have seen their market value skyrocket in the present season. However, the clubs don’t have a plan to sell them off, as they have made a move to extend the contracts of young players.

Despite the club having players for the future, the club would also be looking to sell off some players this summer if a satisfactory bid comes in, and Frenkie de Jong is a prime example.

Arsenal Plan for Frenkie de Jong this Summer

The situation with Frenkie de Jong and Barcelona is like a love relationship that refuses to dissolve despite clear signs.

In recent months, the Dutch midfielder has turned his fortune with the Catalan club, as the player looks to have reclaimed his position in the starting XI of the Hansi Flick system.

Notwithstanding, the player’s contract seems far from being resolved, as the club recently postponed talks until the end of the season amid an unclear future.

TBR Football (via ED) have reported that Arsenal are keen to sign the Dutch midfielder this season if the contract situation remains unresolved.

The English side are still to resolve the issue of Ghanaian international Thomas Partey, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2025. The club may be planning to replace the player with Frenkie de Jong, which could benefit them.
