Hansi Flick’s Barcelona suffered a stunning 2-1 defeat to Las Palmas at home on Saturday, a result that has trimmed their lead at the top of La Liga to just one point over Real Madrid.
Following the upset, Flick convened an urgent meeting with his squad to address their poor form, with even Robert Lewandowski coming under scrutiny.
The 36-year-old striker, who has scored 22 goals in 20 games this season, failed to find the net as Las Palmas secured their first away win against Barcelona since 1971.
Flick reportedly postponed training by an hour to dissect the team’s lackluster performance.
According to Marca, Flick individually confronted Lewandowski on the training ground, criticizing his display. Despite recent struggles, Lewandowski is expected to start against Mallorca on Tuesday.
