Barcelona are expected to return to Camp Nou in February 2025, according to a confirmation from a city councillor.

The La Liga leaders left their iconic stadium at the end of the 2022/23 season, relocating to the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium while extensive renovations were carried out at their historic home.

Initially, the club had aimed for a return by the end of 2024, but earlier this season, they announced that the reopening would be postponed until 2025. Offering a clearer timeline, city council representative David Escudé confirmed that February is the target date for Barcelona’s comeback.

“The date provided by vice-president Elena Fort during the last Assembly, which is February, remains unchanged,” Escudé told RAC1. “There have been no updates to alter this plan.

“The club’s decision to allow for some flexibility in the timeline is a smart one, considering potential delays caused by unforeseen events, such as weather conditions. However, the information we have still points to February.”

Escudé also shared that he had discussed the matter with the club as recently as Monday, as both parties collaborate to ensure a smooth transition back to Camp Nou. Once reopened, the stadium is expected to operate with a reduced capacity for the remainder of the season.
