Canadian striker Jonathan David has become a hot topic in the transfer market as his contract with Lille nears its conclusion at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has drawn interest from top clubs like Juventus and Inter Milan, but his heart is set on Barcelona.
“Barcelona has been my favorite team since I was a kid. Playing for them would be a dream come true,” David shared in an interview with The Athletic, highlighting his deep admiration for the Spanish giants.
While speculation about his future grows, David acknowledged the difficulties of a mid-season transfer. “Switching clubs in January is always tricky.
There’s no pre-season to adapt or build chemistry with new teammates. Everything happens very quickly,” he explained.
For now, the forward remains committed to Lille, emphasizing his focus on improvement.
“People might think staying here is a step back, but for me, there’s always room to grow,” he said, noting aerial ability and playing with his back to goal as areas he hopes to refine.
