AC Milan’s standout attacker Rafael Leao has had difficulty meeting expectations this season. His uneven performances have resulted in him being relegated to the bench under the contentious leadership of Paulo Fonseca.

Numerous individuals think that Fonseca has unjustly shifted the fault to Leao in order to divert focus from his own challenges as Milan’s coach.

Barcelona, on the other hand, has a formidable attacking trio but lacks a right-footed left winger who can contribute significantly in goal-scoring.

In their present arrangement, Raphinha has been moved to the left flank, while Lamine Yamal has taken up the position on the right wing.

If Barcelona decides to acquire a new left winger next year, Leao is anticipated to be a possible option, along with Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is another previous Serie A Most Valuable Player.

Nico Williams, who nearly joined Barcelona last year but stayed with Athletic Club after impressing at Euro 2024, could be an option.

Leao could be a cost-effective choice for Barcelona, as he is said to be pushing for a move away from Milan.

Based on reports from Tuttosport, Leao is looking to leave Milan because of his ongoing problems with Fonseca and the consequent lack of playing time, which has annoyed the Portuguese striker.

Barcelona is said to be keeping an eye on Leao’s situation, however, it is believed that they are not looking to make a move as soon as January.

Club leader Joan Laporta, though, is recognized for his determination to rival Real Madrid in the player acquisition arena.

Although Erling Haaland is still seen as the ideal choice to replace Robert Lewandowski, signing Leao could give Barcelona another attacking option to strengthen their already strong forward line.
