Barcelona’s winger Raphinha disclosed that he considered departing the club during the summer.
The Brazilian player faced constant rumors about his future in Barcelona. Raphinha has played a key role in manager Hansi Flick’s new tactics this season, benefiting from a more direct style of play.
The 27-year-old player has impressed both fans and critics by performing well in both central and left wing positions.
This improvement has resulted in an impressive 17 goal contributions in just 14 games across all competitions, showcasing his revitalized form.
However, according to a recent interview with ‘Losimplenovale’ cited by Diario Sport, Raphinha nearly made a significant decision last summer. Reflecting on the period of speculation around his future, he acknowledged that he had seriously considered leaving Barcelona.
“There was a moment when I contemplated departing.” He stated,
“I have confidence in my skills. If I ever felt unwelcome, I would have departed. My spouse and I were at home, reviewing my choices and the opportunities available to me. There was more I wanted to achieve at Barça, and my contract had years remaining.”
He stated, “I arrived here to create history and demonstrate to others that I am trustworthy.”
