In a recent conversation with France Football, Lamine Yamal offered insights into his soccer career and discussed his admiration for Lionel Messi and Neymar.

In the early stages of his career, Yamal has been often likened to Messi, but he remains unfazed by these comparisons.

“My top priority is leaving a lasting impression and establishing my personal professional path,” he declared.

“Being likened to Leo is a praise, but it’s not something I dwell on excessively. It implies that I am going in the correct direction, but I continuously endeavor to remain true to who I am.”

Yamal’s childhood idol was Neymar, and he remembered how he excitedly observed the Brazilian perform during his tenure at Santos, along with other Barcelona celebrities such as Messi, Villa, and Pedro.

I recall seeing Neymar during his time at Santos, alongside Messi and other players from Barça.

“Those were the instances that molded my perspective on soccer,” Yamal stated.

“Since I was young, my parents and I used to meet at a friend’s place after classes to check out Neymar clips on his laptop. We would dedicate the entire afternoon engrossed in those videos, and later on I would proceed to view them at my house in my bedroom before going to sleep.”
