Recently, unsettling news has surfaced from Catalonia just hours after Barcelona manager Hansi Flick mentioned his anticipation of Frenkie de Jong’s returning in a few weeks.
Sport reports that de Jong has been advised to undergo surgery for his ankle injury.
Up to now, de Jong has opted for a conservative strategy, refraining from surgery and concentrating on building up the muscles around his ankle.
Although it was previously thought that he could potentially return by the end of September, the club now thinks that surgery is needed to address the ongoing instability and long-standing problems with his ankle.
