Real Madrid have emerged as frontrunners and are now close to signing a player who had been one of Barcelona’s primary targets.
Florentino Pérez and the Valdebebas board have systematically built an environment designed to attract Europe’s top teenage talents, leveraging financial muscle and recent domestic successes.
With high-level talks behind closed doors entering their final stages, the capital club is now fully convinced it can seal a marquee agreement before domestic rivals can respond.
The 16-year-old attacking prodigy at the center of this heated El Clásico saga as Real Madrid nears signing of top Barcelona target is Manchester United starlet JJ Gabriel, according to Ramon Alvarez.
Dubbed “Kid Messi” across youth football circuits for his remarkable close control, direct dribbling, and creative vision, the teenager has captured the attention of continental scouting networks.
While Barcelona and Bayern Munich held preliminary talks to outline project proposals, Real Madrid have moved aggressively into pole position to lock down his services.
From Barcelona’s perspective, missing out on Gabriel represents a frustrating blow to Deco’s recruitment strategy.
Catalan directors had targeted the attacker as a strategic addition for La Masia’s upper ranks, offering a clear developmental progression into Hansi Flick’s senior setup.
However, Real Madrid’s superior financial speed and lucrative presentation to the player’s camp have tilted the balance, leaving Barcelona trailing in a race they once hoped to control.
For Real Madrid, securing Gabriel’s commitment reinforces their dominance in snaring generational talent from Premier League academies.
With the player reportedly favoring a destination in La Liga, Madrid’s board remains confident that formal agreements will be concluded in the coming weeks.
As the final details are ironed out, football observers will be watching closely to see if Barcelona can launch a late counter-proposal or if Real Madrid will officially celebrate another transfer victory over their fiercest rivals.
