Barcelona have placed a €20m-rated Manchester City star under close observation as they assess future options.

FC Barcelona’s long-term sporting department continues to lay the groundwork for upcoming transfer windows as Deco and his recruitment staff prioritize identifying elite talent early in their development cycles.

While Hansi Flick maintains full tactical focus on sustaining the club’s domestic title charge, the executive board remains active in monitoring promising wide attackers across Europe to secure positional depth ahead of future campaign shifts.

The talent commanding Barcelona’s attention is 17-year-old English winger Jeremy Monga.

According to Fichajes, the Catalans have reactivated their interest in the attacker, who currently belongs to Manchester City and is spending the 2026/27 season on loan in the Championship with Swansea City.

Barcelona’s scouting department previously tracked Monga during his developmental spell at Leicester City before the Premier League champions moved quickly during the summer window to secure his signature.

Despite losing out on his initial signature, Deco has kept the young winger’s folder active.

Monga has already established a remarkable track record of precocity, having made his Premier League debut at just 15 years and 271 days old, while also becoming the youngest goalscorer in Championship history at 16 years and 37 days following a standout strike against Preston North End.

His direct dribbling capability, pace, and comfort on either flank make him an ideal long-term fit for Flick’s high-intensity offensive system.

A potential operation is projected for the summer 2027 transfer window, with an estimated valuation floating around the €20 million mark.

Barcelona intend to evaluate his playing time and tactical evolution at Swansea throughout the current campaign before determining whether to submit an official proposal to Manchester City.

If Monga continues his trajectory, the Catalans appear ready to launch a serious push to bring the teenage prodigy to Spotify Camp Nou.
