€60m Valencia star in direct talks with Barcelona

A €60 million Valencia star has entered direct talks with FC Barcelona as the Catalan club continues its search for reinforcements.

Anxiety is mounting at Mestalla as Valencia CF brace themselves for late transfer activity from the Catalan giants.

With Hansi Flick seeking added quality and physical engine in the center of the pitch following recent midfield injury setbacks, Barcelona’s sporting hierarchy led by Deco has been quietly laying the groundwork to strike if market conditions permit.

Interest in the Spain youth international has intensified further after both teams shared a pre-season training facility at St. George’s Park in England, where Guerra was spotted greeting several Barcelona players with whom he shares international experience.

The highly rated Mestalla technician targeted by the Blaugrana is 22-year-old Spanish midfielder Javi Guerra.

According to a report from AS, Deco previously held direct talks with Guerra’s representatives to evaluate personal terms and discuss a long-term sporting project at Spotify Camp Nou.

Valencia, however, remain firm in their valuation as they look to protect one of their prized assets. Guerra’s release clause officially rises from €40 million to €60 million, giving Los Che significant leverage in any potential negotiations.

While Valencia sporting director Ron Gourlay hopes to retain the player for the upcoming campaign, the club’s past history under Peter Lim suggests that financial realities could force a deal if Barcelona submit a concrete proposal.

From Barcelona’s perspective, any formal approach for Guerra will depend on how their other high-priority moves unfold in the coming days.

The Catalans remain focused on securing primary attacking targets, but if budget allocations shift or alternative arrangements are finalized, Deco is prepared to accelerate efforts for Guerra to reinforce Flick’s tactical structure ahead of the new season.
