In the winter of 2023, FC Barcelona was eager to sign Youssoufa Moukoko, whose contract with Borussia Dortmund was set to expire at the end of the season. However, despite the club’s efforts, Moukoko extended his contract with Dortmund until 2026. And now, he is expected to be available for transfer this summer.

Moukoko has struggled with limited playing time at Dortmund over the past year. Recently, his agent confirmed to Fabrizio Romano that they are actively seeking an immediate transfer for the young forward in the coming weeks.

“Youssoufa was promised a lot before signing his latest contract, but those promises haven’t materialized. His focus has always been on playing and developing, not on the media reports. All he wants is to play, and if given the opportunity, we have no issues.

“It’s no secret that several clubs recognize Youssoufa’s talents and are interested in him. I believe Dortmund is making a mistake by letting him go. With his limited playing time, his market value has decreased, and Dortmund can’t expect a high return. We are currently exploring interest from clubs in England, Spain, and France.

At just 19 years old, Moukoko has a bright future ahead. While it remains uncertain if Barcelona will renew their interest in him, he could be a valuable alternative if they fail to sign Nico Williams, especially since he would likely be a cost-effective option.
