FC Barcelona is willing to sacrifice 2 top midfielders to push through the high-profile arrival of Bernardo Silva.

The 31-year-old elite creative player will be available on a free transfer this summer after nine years at Manchester City, making him an incredibly attractive option for the Blaugrana.

However, despite the deal being close to finalized, Barcelona must first complete crucial squad exits to create the necessary space in terms of both wages and player registration under La Liga’s strict financial rules.

In a major development, two key Barcelona stars are set to leave for the signing of Bernardo Silva, with Marc Casado and Roony Bardghji identified as the most likely candidates to depart, according to reported by Mundo Deportivo.

The club has now received the green light from coach Hansi Flick, who had previously expressed reservations about the growing competition in the creative midfield.

Flick has given his approval, clearing one of the last remaining internal hurdles for the deal to progress.

Bernardo Silva’s contract at Manchester City expires on June 30th, meaning Barcelona would not need to pay a transfer fee for the Portugal international.

The 31-year-old has clearly told Atletico Madrid he wants to move to Barcelona, and has turned down offers from Los Rojiblancos and several other clubs while waiting for Barcelona to formalize their interest.

Silva is also willing to accept a significantly lower salary than he earned in England, further easing the financial burden on the club.

The connection between Bernardo Silva and Barcelona is strengthened by the fact that Casado’s agent, Jorge Mendes, also represents the Portuguese midfielder.

Casado’s departure would help Barcelona create the financial space needed to register Silva, while Bardghji’s exit would address the need to reduce squad size.

This clever financial maneuvering allows Barcelona to secure an elite free agent while maintaining compliance with La Liga’s wage structure requirements.
