An exclusive report by journalist Gabriel Sans of Mundo Deportivo has shed light on the surprising revelation that Sergi Roberto, former captain of Barcelona, was not included in Hansi Flick’s plans.
The unexpected disclosure came after Flick’s abrupt response during a recent press conference, where he simply stated, “He is not a Barça player at the moment,” leaving many lingering questions unanswered. During this press conference, President Joan Laporta, who was also present, opted to remain silent and refrained from providing any clarity on the situation.
Roberto’s future was more defined during former coach Xavi Hernandez’s tenure. Xavi had expressed a strong desire to retain Roberto, and Barcelona had been actively pursuing his contract extension regardless of Xavi’s status with the team.
