Barcelona’s summer rebuild is on the way, and it appears one of their academy products could be heading for the exit.

Barcelona are actively mapping out their transfer strategy, with incoming targets identified, but crucially, departures also being lined up to balance finances and free up space in the squad.

Among those now expected to move on is Marc Casado.

The 22-year-old midfielder, a graduate of La Masia, had previously resisted opportunities to leave the club, turning down moves both last summer and during the winter window.

However, his situation has shifted significantly.

With limited game time and several midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order, Casado has now accepted that his future likely lies away from the Spotify Camp Nou and is open to listening to offers in the upcoming window, as reported by SPORT.

From the club’s perspective, there is no intention to block his departure.

Barcelona are believed to value the midfielder at around €30 million, a figure that reflects both his potential and academy background.

Interest is already building.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia have been monitoring the situation closely, with offers in the region of €20 million (£17 million) previously mentioned, although that valuation falls short of what Barcelona are willing to accept.

Elsewhere, Ajax are understood to admire the player, but a deal at Barcelona’s asking price could prove financially challenging.

Premier League clubs are also said to be monitoring Marc Casado.

This situation highlights a broader reality for Barcelona.

Despite their commitment to youth development, financial pressures mean difficult decisions must be made, even when it comes to homegrown talent.

Casado’s potential exit is not just about performance, it is about balancing the books while reshaping the squad for the future.

For the player, though, this could represent an opportunity.

A move away would likely offer regular football and a chance to develop further, something that has been hard to come by in a competitive Barcelona midfield.

And as the club prepares for a busy summer, this may be just the first of several departures aimed at funding the next phase of their project.
