Real Madrid goes all in to block FC Barcelona’s pursuit of a dynamic La Liga winger, stepping up efforts to disrupt the deal.

The 22‑year‑old attacker has enjoyed a breakthrough season in La Liga, combining electric pace, direct dribbling, and a growing eye for goal, which has drawn the attention of several top‑level clubs.

Barcelona had been eyeing him as a competitive, cost‑effective option to add width and depth to their attacking rotation, but Real Madrid’s deep involvement in the case makes the transfer far from straightforward.

The player at the centre of the tussle is Víctor Muñoz, a speedy left winger who has returned six goals and five assists across La Liga and the Copa del Rey for Osasuna, as reported by The Athletic.

Muñoz came through Barcelona’s academy before moving to Madrid’s youth setup, and Real still holds roughly 50 percent of his economic rights along with a cheap buy‑back option that can be triggered over the next three seasons.

Crucially, Los Blancos also have a right of first refusal, meaning they can match any incoming offer or simply block the sale to Barcelona outright—which reports indicate they are fully prepared to do.

His current release clause is understood to be around €40 million, but with Madrid having the option to reacquire him for as little as €8–10 million in the coming summers, they are in a strong position to control his trajectory.

For Barcelona, the situation is a clear warning that not every La Liga talent is up for grabs, especially when Real Madrid still holds such tight control over the dossier.

Without a shift in Madrid’s stance or a huge increase in price, their pursuit of Muñoz looks set to hit a hard wall, pushing them toward other winger profiles in the market.
