FC Barcelona has opened direct talks with an Espanyol winger, with negotiations now underway for a potential move to Camp Nou.

The 14‑year‑old attacker has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in the Espanyol system, showing quick feet, strong decision‑making, and the ability to drift inside from the left flank to create and finish chances.

With Barcelona’s La Masia scouts now closely monitoring his progress, the Catalan giants are hoping to persuade the player and his family to stay in the city and continue his development under the Blaugrana banner.

The player in question is Jan Vila Ferré, a 14‑year‑old whose rapid rise through the Espanyol youth ranks has already drawn attention from several top clubs, as reported by Diario Sport.

Barcelona is preparing a formal summer offer aimed at pulling him away from his current club, but they are not the only interested party.

Real Madrid is also actively courting Vila Ferré, going as far as launching a strong campaign to convince him and his entourage to move to the Spanish capital, setting up a tense battle for the teenager’s signature.

Despite the Madrid interest, Barcelona is trying to leverage its proximity, the prestige of La Masia, and the recent examples of other local talents who have made the move across the city, in the hope of keeping him in Catalonia.

For Barcelona, landing a player like Vila Ferré fits into a wider strategy of dominating the youth market in the region, especially as Espanyol currently sits in the second tier and their academy infrastructure is under more pressure.

The club is confident that a well‑structured offer, both on the football and educational side, can tilt the scales in their favour.

If they succeed, Vila Ferré would join a growing wave of Espanyol academy products finding their way to Camp Nou, reinforcing the idea that Barcelona remains the preferred destination for many of the best young talents in the Barcelona metropolitan area.
