Barcelona’s push for silverware this season has been built on attacking consistency.
The Catalan giants have relied heavily on their front line to deliver in big moments.
Injuries have already disrupted parts of their campaign.
With the business end of the season approaching, every absence now carries significant weight for Hansi Flick’s side.
That concern has now intensified following fresh developments during the international break.
Raphinha has been officially withdrawn from the Brazil squad after suffering a muscle injury in his right thigh during their clash against France.
The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed the setback, via their website, stating: “Athletes Raphinha and Wesley were dropped from the squad this Friday (27) by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
“Both felt pain in the back of their right thigh during the match against France.”
“On Friday, the athletes underwent imaging tests that confirmed muscle injuries.
“The players are free to continue their treatment. No other athletes will be called up to replace them.”
Raphinha had started the friendly in the United States but was forced off after complaining of discomfort, cutting his involvement short and raising immediate concerns.
The 29-year-old will now return to Barcelona, where medical staff will assess the full extent of the issue and determine his recovery timeline.
His absence represents a major setback given his importance to the team.
This season, Raphinha has registered 27 goal contributions in 31 games across all competitions, underlining his consistent attacking threat from wide areas.
The Brazilian has grown into one of Barcelona’s most reliable performers, even stepping up as a leader in the squad and delivering in key fixtures, including decisive goals in major matches this season.
However, this latest injury raises concerns given his recent history with muscle issues, which have previously disrupted his rhythm and required careful management.
Now, all eyes will be on how quickly Raphinha can recover, as the club braces for another potential spell without one of its most influential attacking weapons.
