With the countdown to Barcelona’s presidential elections ticking away, the political temperature around the club is starting to rise.

In just over two weeks, members will head to the polls to decide who they believe should lead the next chapter.

Campaigns are intensifying, alliances are forming quietly behind the scenes, and gestures of support are beginning to surface.

While public debates play out in the media, some of the most telling signs are emerging from within the club itself.

And one of the strongest signals yet has now come from the dugout.

Joan Laporta is pushing to return for another term as president, facing competition from Victor Font, Marc Ciria and Xavi Vilajoana.

Despite the crowded field, the former president appears to be gathering significant momentum internally, particularly within the sporting structure.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has already signed his endorsement as a club member in support of Laporta’s pre-candidacy.

Hansi Flick is said to have given his signature discreetly a few days ago at the Ciutat Esportiva, following a similar path taken by several first-team players.

Flick’s backing is not entirely surprising given the stability he has enjoyed since arriving at the club, but the timing of the move is notable as the election approaches its decisive phase.

His presence, alongside Deco and Bojan Krkic Jr., at the presentation of Laporta’s book Aixi Hem Salvat el Barca earlier this week further underlined where his support lies.

Behind the scenes, Laporta’s campaign continues to pick up endorsements.

Sporting director Deco and football co-ordinator Bojan Krkic Jr. are also expected to formally sign their support, reinforcing the sense that the current sporting leadership is aligned behind the former president.

Within the dressing room, that sentiment has increasingly spilled into the public domain.

In recent interviews, players such as Dani Olmo and Gerard Martin have hinted at their backing for Laporta’s return, while on the women’s side, Aitana Bonmatí has openly expressed her support.

Endorsement ballots have reportedly been collected at the Ciutat Esportiva, painting a picture of strong internal confidence in Laporta’s project across both squads.

As voting day edges closer, that internal backing could prove decisive.

While rivals continue to shape their messages for the wider membership, Laporta’s growing support from coaches, players and sporting executives suggests his campaign is gathering real traction where it matters most.
