Barcelona is uncertain about Koundé's future!

FC Barcelona clinched the La Liga title in style last season. During the whole league winning Xavi’s side’s defense had been close to perfect conceding only 20 goals the whole season. Balde, Araujo, Christensen, and Kounde, famously known as B.A.C.K. all had been sublime for the whole 2022/23 league season.

Fast forward to the 2023/24 season, the defending league champion’s defense has been opposite to last season. Xavi’s men already leaked 24 goals in 20 matches which results in the Catalan club’s standing on the league table. After half season Barcelona stands in third position trailing by 8 points with table topper Girona, who has 52 points from 21 games.

Constant mistakes from the defense line have been the main problem for the Spanish giant current team. Despite the whole defensive shape appearing to be in poor form, during last few games saw a very ordinary outing from star defender Jules Kounde.

Arrived from Sevilla last season for 60 million, the Frenchman instantly became a key figure for the 27-time Spanish champion. But after a superb start of the season as center back former Sevilla star was forced to be shifted to right back position after an injury to Joao Cancelo.

Amidst his poor performance, many reports now claim some internal figures at Barcelona are concerned by 25-year-old star’s recent form. Especially after the emergence of La Masia’s latest product Pau Cubarsi, Barca board is considering selling him in the summer to generate income.

As per multiple reports, the player himself is not comfortable starting as right back and is allegedly unhappy about the departures of Ousmane Dembele and Franck Kessie, with whom he had good terms.
