Barcelona’s men’s side have continued their impressive early-season form, putting together a string of commanding wins that have reaffirmed their status as one of Europe’s most feared outfits.

Hansi Flick’s team have been ruthless in front of goal.

The Catalans have also shown defensive steel, conceding just a handful of goals across their opening fixtures, and the depth of their squad has allowed them to rotate without losing momentum.

With key fixtures in both La Liga and the Champions League on the horizon, confidence around the Camp Nou is growing that silverware will once again be within reach.

Fans have been buoyed not only by their team’s performances on the pitch, but by the growing list of individual accolades that continue to underline the club’s influence on world football.

That influence reached another incredible milestone in Paris on Monday night, as Aitana Bonmati captured the Women’s Ballon d’Or for 2025, making history with a record-breaking third consecutive triumph.

The Spanish and Barcelona star became the first female player to win the award three times since its launch in 2018, beating Arsenal forwards Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo, who finished second and third respectively.

Bonmati’s season was nothing short of remarkable.

She spearheaded Barca’s domestic treble triumph, lifting the Liga F, Copa de la Reina, and Supercopa de España Femenina, while registering 16 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

Her brilliance carried into Europe as she was named UEFA Women’s Champions League Player of the Season, after guiding her team to the final in Lisbon, where they narrowly lost 1-0 to Arsenal.

For Spain,Aitana Bonmati defied adversity to shine at Euro 2025, overcoming a diagnosis of viral meningitis days before the tournament.

She played every match, scoring the semi-final winner against Germany and assisting in the quarter-final against Switzerland, before Spain’s run ended in a penalty shoot-out loss to England.

Her third straight Ballon d’Or ensures the prestigious prize remains in Barcelona hands for the fifth year running, following Bonmatí’s own victories in 2023 and 2024, and Alexia Putellas’s triumphs in 2021 and 2022.

Barcelona’s dominance continued with Lamine Yamal lifting the men’s Kopa Trophy, Vicky Lopez taking the women’s Kopa Trophy and Ewa Pajor clinching the Gerd Müller Trophy.
