FC Barcelona has solidified its position as a global football powerhouse by securing a significant new commercial partnership that underscores its enduring appeal to top-tier brands.
Announced on September 1, 2025, this deal marks a pivotal step in the club’s strategy to bolster its financial stability while expanding its international presence.
The agreement, set to commence in the 2026/27 season, aligns Barcelona with a prominent global company, further enhancing their brand visibility on and off the pitch.
The new partner is Chinese home appliance giant Midea, known worldwide for its innovative household products, particularly air conditioning systems.
Starting July 1, 2026, Midea will replace Ambilight, the current sleeve sponsor from Philips’ television brand, on Barcelona’s first-team and training kits, as confirmed by the official club statement.
The five-year agreement, running until the 2030/31 season, positions Midea as the club’s Main Partner and Official Home Appliances Partner.
Reports indicate that this deal will generate approximately €12 million per season, providing a substantial boost to Barcelona’s commercial revenues at a time when the club is navigating the costly Camp Nou renovation project.
Midea’s entry into the Barcelona family is a natural fit, given its established presence in football sponsorships.
The company has a successful partnership with Manchester City, where they have implemented fan-centric campaigns and LED installations at the Etihad Stadium.
This experience will likely translate into creative activations with Barcelona, enhancing fan engagement globally.
Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste highlighted the alignment, stating, “It will be an honour for FC Barcelona to incorporate Midea, starting from the 2026/27 season, into the great Barça family.
Its leadership in smart home solutions and innovation aligns perfectly with FC Barcelona’s forward-looking vision.”
This sponsorship deal not only strengthens Barcelona’s financial foundation but also reinforces its global brand equity.
As the club prepares for its return to a redeveloped Camp Nou, partnerships like Midea’s signal a bright future, blending tradition with cutting-edge commercial strategies to maintain its status as a footballing giant.
