Barcelona’s financial struggles remain a central theme of this transfer window, with the Catalan giants still unable to fully register several of their latest signings.

The ongoing uncertainty has frustrated both supporters and management, as high-profile names like Wojciech Szczesny, Roony Bardghji and Gerard Martin remain in limbo ahead of the season’s final registration deadline.

Meanwhile, the club continues to reshape its squad.

Goalkeeper Inaki Pena is on the verge of completing a switch to Elche CF, while Barca are yet to find a buyer for Hector Fort.

Without significant sales, the Blaugrana’s hopes of achieving short-term economic stability look bleak, forcing the board to consider sacrificing members of the first team.

One name reluctantly floated in discussions has been Fermin Lopez.

The 22-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance and was viewed as an important part of Hansi Flick’s tactical set-up due to his energy, technical craft, and ability to play across midfield and attacking roles.

Indeed, Flick has spoken highly of Fermin’s intelligence in tight spaces and his knack for linking midfield with attack.

However, with the Catalans under mounting financial strain, reports from El Chiringuito, via X, claim Barcelona are now willing to part ways with Fermin Lopez if a bid in the region of €60 million arrives.

Such a stance is surprising, given Flick’s admiration for the youngster and the fact that Fermin himself is a lifelong Barcelona supporter, often described as one of the most passionate figures in the dressing room.

Even so, his role in the squad is far from guaranteed.

With Gavi back to full fitness and fierce competition from Dani Olmo, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford, Fermin has managed just 45 minutes of league action this campaign.

His visible frustration at being left unused in the recent clash against Levante further highlighted the tension surrounding his situation.

Interest in Fermin is far from lacking.

Bayern Munich and Chelsea are both monitoring developments closely, while Premier League sides could yet enter the race.

The next 48 hours promise to be decisive as Barcelona weigh the prospect of a sizeable cash boost against Flick’s desire to keep one of his most trusted young players.
