FC Barcelona has set a definitive price tag on a sidelined forward, signaling its intent to offload the player.

The club is looking to maintain its financial stability while sustaining its La Liga dominance and potentially replacing players like Ferran Torres with new signings like Nico Williams and Roony Bardghji.

In this regard, Joan Laporta’s presidency and Deco’s Sporting direction are exploring ways to raise funds; selling this attacker is viable due to the impact of La Liga’s Financial Fair Play and will free up salary cap (and financial) space for the club to target new signings.

The player in question is Pau Victor, and Barcelona is pricing him at €20 million for the 22-year-old forward, as reported by Diario Sport.

Pau Victor made his move permanent from Girona in 2024 after a loan, but Flick’s squad is a competitive one, and Victor had not been able to get regular minutes as he competed to play with Robert Lewandowski and other players.

Although he has shown glimpses of his goalscoring ability and promise, Pablo Victor’s limited minutes led FC Barcelona’s hierarchy to a potential transfer.

Valencia and Anderlecht reported interest in him as a player for his versatility as a forward and room for improvement.

Barcelona’s stance at €20 million showed a middle ground approach to take advantage of Victor’s potential as an asset and a cost-driven solution.

If Victor moved to another club, Barcelona may have an easier time registering new players who were expected to come in with regard to La Liga compliance, as this had proved difficult in recent history.

This is not to say that Flick doesn’t believe in Victor’s work rate and potential, it’s just that any available replacements would augment the considerable depth the club has in attacking players, making selling Victor a pragmatic approach to optimize the squad as the transfer window on July 1 opens.

The club’s willingness to negotiate for a sale shows their dedication to optimizing the squad as well as remaining conscientious with their finances to ensure that they remain competitive in the 2025-26 season.
