Barcelona’s recruitment strategy under Hansi Flick is already showing clear signs of long-term thinking, with the club looking to combine immediate impact signings with smart investments in youth.

The Catalans are not just targeting first-team reinforcements, but also working behind the scenes to secure Europe’s top emerging talents before the continent’s heavyweights join the race.

Their focus on the next generation is a key part of their rebuild, especially with the financial limitations they continue to face under La Liga’s salary regulations.

With La Masia still central to the club’s DNA, there’s also an effort to blend homegrown talent with promising imports — and the latest signing is a perfect example.

Barcelona have completed the signing of Swedish prodigy Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen in a deal worth €2 million plus add-ons, as reported by multiple Spanish outlets.

At just 19 years old, Roony Bardghji is considered one of the brightest attacking prospects in Europe, with left-footed flair, strong dribbling ability and a keen eye for goal making him a standout in Denmark’s top flight.

The original plan is for Bardghji to alternate between the first team and Barca Atletic. However, the club is also open to sending him out on loan for a full season to aid his development.

According to COPE Mallorca via Diario Sport, La Liga side RCD Mallorca have expressed interest in taking Bardghji on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Jagoba Arrasate’s side believe they can offer the winger valuable minutes in Spain’s top flight — a potential springboard to showcase his talent in the league Barcelona want him to eventually dominate.

Mallorca are also interested in another fringe Barca player, Pablo Torre, who has struggled for opportunities under Flick.

Despite outside interest, the final decision will rest with the German coach.

The club intends for Flick to assess Bardghji during pre-season before deciding whether to keep him around the first team or allow a loan move.

Barcelona moved swiftly to beat rival clubs across Europe to Bardghji’s signature — and now the goal is to maximise his potential in a system built for future stars.
