Galatasaray is preparing a significant offer to lure a key Barcelona star, intensifying speculation around the player’s future.

The goalkeeper situation at FC Barcelona has become a hotbed for transfer speculation.

The La Liga champions are in a transitional phase, with the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol seemingly marking a change in their goalkeeping hierarchy, leading to speculation regarding the future of the established first-choice goalkeeper, who is likely not happy about the direction the club is taking.

Following the rumors, the interest abroad is particularly intriguing given that the Turkish club in question is looking for a high-profile replacement for their veteran keeper, just as Barcelona gets ready for the return to Spotify Camp Nou.

As reported by Fotomaç, Galatasaray is interested in Marc-André ter Stegen, the 33-year-old captain of Barcelona.

The German international keeper has been with Barcelona since 2014.

Ter Stegen is said to be unhappy with Barcelona’s pursuit of Garcia, whom they see as a long-term replacement for the German, and it is said that he was frustrated that he became aware of Garcia’s move through the media, with some sources that state he feels that he is being subjected to psychological pressure to leave.

Galatasaray sees him as a probable successor to Fernando Muslera and is looking to bring in a proven player.

Ter Stegen’s contract extends to 2028, but his considerable wage, coupled with Barcelona’s FFP, makes a transfer feasible.

He has publicly stated he wishes to stay despite interest from Galatasaray and several Premier League clubs, and has said he will fight for his position under Hansi Flick.

His recent performances speak for themselves, most recently with a fine display for Germany in the recent win against France.

The player and his family will need to make a decision, especially with Garcia heading to Camp Nou soon and the World Cup coming up.

Barcelona’s hierarchy will have to manage this sensitive situation as they plan for new youth and sustainability.
