Barcelona is targeting a Liverpool star to strengthen their attacking squad, aiming to add versatility and depth for the upcoming season.
The consistent running of the team’s front three has made it apparent that a player who can fit inside, be versatile, and play wide to complement the central striker would be useful.
Owing to the return to a redeveloped and financially buoyant Camp Nou, along with the club’s latest ambitious recruitment project to attract top stars, it is easy to visualise this deal as something that could happen.
The player in question is Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, a 28-year-old Colombian winger highly appreciated by Sporting Director Deco.
According to Diario Sport, Diaz can play in some wider positions and contribute goals, making him an ideal backup for Robert Lewandowski, among others.
Although Díaz is rated at €80 million, having failed in the past to negotiate with Liverpool for the player, his hefty price is now manageable, as we navigate financial difficulties.
At least his €3.5m annual salary fits into the current wage structure, which is certainly better value than other targets like Nico Williams.
Diaz is currently contracted to Liverpool until 2027, but we have even heard that he would be interested in a switch to La Liga, after all, he has been joined by members of the supporting staff who, it has often been claimed, were an attraction for Barcelona.
A signing like this would benefit and give more depth and movement to the Barcelona attack, breaking away from reliance on the present attacking.
If the deal gets done, it will convey to the football world that Barcelona is trying to compete at the highest level by combining the stars of tomorrow with proven talent.
Fans are waiting with bated breath as the summer approaches, and taking to the pitch at the Camp Nou could be Diaz.
