Barcelona has dismissed Manchester City for pursuing their €60 million star playmaker, a vital player this season.
The Catalan club spent €55 million to get the midfielder, which was facilitated by director Deco.
After issues registering the player and injury setbacks, the player has integrated to become a fundamental player in Barcelona’s winning of a domestic treble.
His standout qualities made him an important part of the squad, and he is expected to contribute even more to the team in the season to come.
The player is Dani Olmo, a 27-year-old Spanish international, whose class was noticed by Manchester City, as reported by Diario Sport.
The Premier League champions are preparing for life without Kevin De Bruyne and likely Bernardo Silva, and see Olmo as a potential target.
However, Barcelona has no desire to move on from Olmo just a year since his return. Deco stated he is important, saying, “Dani Olmo will be a very important player next season.
We knew exactly what he could give us.”
Olmo’s representative, Andy Bara, doubled down on this idea and dismissed any transfer rumors: “Dani is very happy at Barcelona, winning titles with a great team.”
After injuries held him back, Olmo’s quality was clear in putting the game right with decisive performances in critical moments.
Olmo has his spot in national team manager Hansi Flick’s plans. Flick has also stuck by Olmo.
Olmo’s successful adaptation to the speed of the game at clubs and in national teams is promising for both player and club and suggests a good future going forward.
With player and club in alignment, it seems Manchester City have been firmly turfed off plans to recruit the creative playmaker and work towards plans that build around their player for the coming seasons.
